Queer Film Festival Jerusalem 2023 is proud to present - "Mizrahi-Palestinian Solidarity Program"
QFF JLM is proud to present our Mizrahi-Palestinian solidarity program, featuring @moseribatel and @tinajacov. During the panel, Palestinian and Mizrahi queer filmmakers will present LGBTQ+ films that deal with the intersection between the Mizrahi/Palestinian identity and the queer identity. The basis of the program is the understanding that Palestinian, Mizrahi, and Queer activism grew out of recognition of the trauma of each community that was harmed by the patriarchy and white colonialism. The Mizrahi and Palestinian communities have a cultural-linguistic-rooted base in the Middle East, and both have striven since the establishment of the Israeli state for prosperity and equality under discrimination and pressure from white-hegemonic governments. Only mutual recognition and striving for action that includes all minorities and discriminated populations will lead to justice, healing, and true peace.
